MNMHL League Rules
League Rules-
USA Hockey and Missouri Hockey rules apply except in cases where MNMHL has imposed an alternate interpretation. League rules are subject to modification based upon changes in USA Hockey or Missouri Hockey rules.
League Administration shall act as the final arbitrator in all disputes or protests involving the interpretation of the league playing rules and suspensions.
Icing and offside will be enforced according to USA Hockey rules, including the tag-up procedure to nullify offside and the standard use of the red line for icing.
This is a "Non-checking" league, but it is NOT a "No contact" league. Players must understand the distinction between open-ice checks and checking players into the boards, as well as body contact that occurs naturally within the flow of the game. Any player who cannot make this distinction will be removed from play.
NO FIGHTING. Any sort of MAJOR penalty or game misconduct will result in a FOUR game suspension. Second MAJOR penalty or game misconduct in a season will lead to expulsion from the league. Physical abuse of an official will result in expulsion from league play.
Teams have a three-minute warm-up plus an extra five minutes to have five (5) skaters and a goalie. At the end of that time, the game will be forfeited by the shorthanded team. Forfeits will be recorded as a 1-0 loss for the team at fault.
No game may end in a tie. If a game is tied at the end of regulation, a 3-player shootout will occur, followed by a sudden death shootout to determine the winner. No player may shoot twice until all players have had the opportunity to take a shot.
Three minor penalties in a game may result in the player being ejected from the game.
Two game misconducts by any one player will result in suspension and/or expulsion after consideration of the facts.
Player Position/Roster-
Teams must submit a complete roster of up to twenty players prior to the first game. Team rosters will be locked at the start of the second game.
Goalies registered in the league, regardless of the team they are rostered on, may play for any team in need of a goalie.
No player may be registered on more than one team.
All players must be 18 or older.
All players are required to sign in at the registration table in the rink lobby before each game.
Players rostered may participate in playoffs. Any player not rostered must participate in at least HALF of the regular season games to be eligible for playoff participation.
All players must provide proof of Individual Membership Registration (IMR) with USA Hockey for the current season. Players are required to register at www.usahockey.com and submit their Membership Number.
No team will be permitted to participate if it is in bad standing due to unpaid bills from previous seasons or any outstanding financial obligations related to the MNMHL and/or USA Hockey affiliated teams. Teams who play a player that is not registered under USA Hockey will be assessed a minor penalty.
Substitute players must be registered under USA Hockey to play.
Team Accountability-
Teams are responsible for checking out locker rooms. Teams should pick up after themselves before leaving the locker room.
NO alcohol or smoking allowed inside of the RP Lumber Center.
Team representatives are accountable for the behavior of its players at all times. Any acts of severe unsportsmanlike behavior, including physical or verbal abuse directed at opposing players, officials, fans, or rink staff, will not be tolerated and will be looked at byLeague Administration for possible suspensions for player or team.
Team representatives must notify suspended players of any suspensions.
No team is allowed on the ice until referees are on the ice.• All teams are liable for any damage to the RP Lumber Center.
Game Time/Penalties-
All games will have a duration of one hour and fifteen minutes.
Teams will be allowed a 30 second timeout per game.
Teams that are leading in score by eight or more goals will result in a running clock.
3 minute warm up.
There will be 15-minute periods. The third period will remain 15 minutes, unless there are 5 minutes left in the ice slot, at which point the scorekeeper will adjust the game time to 2 minutes.

Misconduct penalty 10:00
MAJOR and MISCONDUCT penalties will result in a FOUR game suspension.
Equipment/Jerseys-
All players are required to wear full hockey equipment. Helmets are required - facial protection is highly recommended.
Teams must have the same color numbered jerseys.
Players not wearing the required equipment will be assessed a minor penalty and will not be allowed to play until the proper equipment is in place.
Teams are responsible for supplying pucks for your team.
